Jonathan Feingold is a member of our Business Law and Litigation groups. His practice involves areas as diverse as:

  • Business disputes and dispute resolution
  • Shareholder disputes, remedies and agreements
  • Commercial and residential real estate matters and disputes
  • Estate, wills and trusts litigation
  • Commercial leases and landlord-tenant disputes
  • Private international law / Conflict of laws
  • Provisional remedies such as seizures before judgment, Mareva injunctions and Anton Piller orders
  • Mergers and acquisitions and asset purchase agreements
  • Distribution and trade issues.

He is an experienced pleader, regularly appearing before the Superior Court and Court of Appeal.

Jonathan represents individuals, liquidators and trustees, as well as companies with long-standing local and international operations and start-ups. His clients operate in all sectors of activity, including real estate, logistics and freight forwarding, the fashion industry and media.

Representative Matters

Recent representative work includes:

Sale of Groupe Marchand to FYidoctors — Represented the shareholders of Groupe Marchand for the sale of their shares to FYI Eye Care Services and Products Inc. Headquartered in Calgary, FYidoctors is one of the country’s leading suppliers of ophthalmic products and services, with over 450 optometrists in more than 280 locations. Groupe Marchand operates over 85 clinics.

Castor Holdings case — Represents a group of European investors in a professional liability claim against the auditors of Castor Holdings Ltd. following the company’s bankruptcy. This is one of the most complex and notorious cases in the country’s history.

Sale of Dicom Transportation Group — Participated in the sale of Dicom, a major business-to-business transportation company, to a Chicago-based private equity fund. Represented the sellers. Dicom, which has approximately 1,000 employees and generates annual revenues of about $175 million, carries on business in Quebec and Ontario under the Dicom, Dicom Express and GoJiT banners. It operates 25 distribution centers and a fleet of more than 700 trucks, trailers and other vehicles.
