Sophie Lacoursière is a lawyer in our Family Law department. Her practice focuses primarily on divorce and separation cases, particularly those involving complex financial issues, including corporate structures and elaborate estates.
She specializes in cases involving child custody and support, as well as those involving significant relational challenges, such as domestic violence, severe separation, and co-parenting conflicts. Sophie also deals with cases that involve international private law components.
Sophie supports her clients through various alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation, settlement conferences, and negotiations, maintaining a human and rigorous approach. She also handles adoption cases.
Before joining RSS, Sophie practiced family law in private practice and worked in a shelter for women who were victims of domestic violence—an experience that has enriched her understanding of the interpersonal and human aspects specific to her field
