COVID-19 — Communicating With RSS | Protecting Parties’ Rights

For both hygiene and efficiency purposes, RSS asks clients and contacts to communicate with us via email instead of postage.

And, as you may already know, all activity has generally been suspended in courthouses throughout Quebec, except for urgent matters, as defined by the courts.

In addition, in this crisis period, to protect parties’ rights, the minister of Justice, in collaboration with the Chief Justice of Quebec, has implemented measures to suspend all legal limitation periods, including prescription and procedure limitations, from March 15, 2020, until further notice. Therefore, since that date, all limitations are inoperative.

Please be assured that we are aware of the issues at stake and have already provided for the measures required to protect your rights once the crisis is over and the suspension lifted.

For any question, please do not hesitate to consult with one of our lawyers, who will be pleased to assist you.
