How to Prepare an Application for Adjudication?

Do you know about the role of adjudicators in public construction contracts? Selected under a governmental programme, they are appointed to facilitate payments to enterprises that are parties to public construction contracts and subcontracts.

Pierre Brossoit was one of the first such experts designated by the government in 2018, when the programme was only a pilot project.

In the spring of 2022, he has collaborated with the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec (IMAQ) on the production of videos, in French, explaining to contractors how to prepare for a hearing before an adjudicator. View the first video of this series:

Les différends visés et la sélection d’un intervenant‑expert (Covered disputes, and selecting the adjudicator)

The first video presents the disputes falling under the scope of the Pilot project to facilitate payment to enterprises that are parties to public construction work contracts and related public subcontracts, CQLR c C-65.1, r 8.01, adopted under the Act respecting contracting by public bodies, CQLR c C-65.1, and on the selection of the adjudicator.

Le déroulement de l’intervention et l’avis de l’intervenant-expert (The hearing process, and the adjudicator’s decision)

The second video discusses the procedure, and clarifies the adjudicator’s decision.

Un cas pratique (Case study)

In the last video, Mr. Brossoit presents a case study: the various steps of an application for an adjudication.
