The M\u00e9rite Christine-Tourigny<\/a> is one of the Bar of Quebec\u2019s most distinctive tributes. It is awarded each year to mark a member\u2019s social commitment and special contribution to the progress of women in the legal profession.<\/p>\n

This year, the distinction is awarded to Lynne Kassie, Ad. E.<\/a>, head of our firm\u2019s Family Law Group<\/a>. Ever since her beginnings, Ms. Kassie has acted as a mentor to many women lawyers and continues to shine with her sound advice, her energy and her passion for the profession. The M\u00e9rite will be officially awarded at the Journ\u00e9e du Barreau, on June 17.<\/p>\n

Andrew Penhale, RSS\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, believes that this distinction is a tribute to a tradition to which Ms. Kassie has always contributed, \u201cBenjamin Robinson and Joseph Shapiro founded the firm in 1921 because they were hitting too many doors closed on account of discrimination. As a result, since day one, the firm has been promoting social commitment and the elimination of discrimination. By recruiting women and encouraging them to take part in the life of RSS, Lynne has contributed to perpetuating a dynamism that makes us very proud.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
