The COVID-19 virus and the public health measures adopted to combat it may raise questions concerning custody, parental authority, alimentary obligations or the negotiation of your divorce (or any other matter that may arise) in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Current government measures allow us to continue our operations and, although we\u00a0 will have to adapt to the situation, please be aware that we remain available to answer your questions. We invite you to contact us by email or leave a message in our respective voice mailboxes and then we could schedule a telephone appointment, if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Several of you have asked us questions about childcare arrangements. In this regard, we would like to add our voice to the government directives available on Justice Qu\u00e9bec website, and remind you that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The current custody schedules continue to apply in principle;<\/li>\n<li>It may however be opportune for parents to discuss and see if a new schedule minimizing the number of exchanges can be envisaged;<\/li>\n<li>In the event of conflicts, parents should favour negotiation or mediation, a process in which we can guide you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The recommendations contained above will of course need to be adapted to public health directives, in particular as regards to periods of isolation or if one of the parents develops symptoms of COVID-19 as well as any directive to come.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to custody issues, public health measures and market developments may impact your financial situation.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions about how the current crisis could affect your alimentary rights or obligations or the partition of your assets, we invite you to contact us.
