Jean-Marc Fortier’s activity focuses on counseling and coaching business managers for mergers and acquisitions, investment, private equity and public financing, especially in the mining, aeronautics and telecommunications sectors. For the past three decades, he was involved in the development and financing of major telecommunications infrastructure projects in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia (especially China). He also advises numerous private investors from Europe and Asia seeking to acquire businesses in Canada.
Jean-Marc defines himself as an experienced manager who has worked as an executive and director of major Canadian companies with international operations. Throughout his career, he has sat and is still involved with the directors of companies in the telecommunications, insurance and financial services sectors. He provides guidance to businesses and their managers on their duty to develop and implement risk management systems and best governance practices.
His experience in the aeronautics field caused him to be selected twice as a member of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada that has jurisdiction over the Aeronautics Act and regulations and policies on air transportation in Canada.
