Maro Coric joined Robinson Sheppard Shapiro at the end of 2019 following six years at Aon where he served as Senior Vice President, National Financial Services Group Claims Leader. He acts as coverage and monitoring counsel specializing in the interpretation of various insurance policies including cyber, directors’ and officers’ liability, fiduciary liability, commercial general liability, employment practices liability, errors and omissions liability, marine/cargo, and crime/bond.
He provides advice regarding a broad range of complex files including securities class actions and claims against financial institutions. In addition, he has substantial experience regarding transportation matters of all types including cargo claims as well as trucker liability and freight forwarder errors and omissions.
Maro worked on some of the highest profile cyber breaches in Canadian history which included the filing of several class actions and he is very familiar with the challenges that an insured organization faces when dealing with ransomware and social engineering.
He gained valuable experience, between 2007–2013, working as a Senior Claims Analyst at AIG where he handled errors and omissions matters relating to architects and engineers as well as commercial general liability matters, and also at Chubb Insurance Company of Canada where he handled executive risk lines of insurance.
